
Advanced Life Support
Our Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances are staff by New York State Certified Paramedics. In addition to BLS supplies, they are equipped with state of the art life saving equipment including 12-lead cardiac monitors with defibrillation and external pacemaker capabilities, intravenous medication transfusion pumps, pulse oximeters, ventilators, automated non-invasive blood pressure monitors and emergency medical/cardiac drugs.
All Paramedics and Paramedic ambulances fully comply with all New York State Department of Health regulations, as well as Regional EMS Council of New York City, protocols. ALS ambulances are for individuals requiring advanced pre-hospital intervention or inter-facility transportation. Our paramedics can provide patients with advanced care including IV's, cardiac monitoring, and intubation. Examples of some ALS emergency services include the treatment of chest pain, shortness of breath, altered mental status, cardiac arrest, and major trauma.

Equipment Used
Medtronic LifePak® 12 Defibrillator/Monitor
This unit's Vital Signs trending allows for rapid evaluation of changes in patient condition. Cardiac conditions and risk are easily tracked. The Lifepak 12 allows for noninvasive pacing, pulse oximetry (SpO2), 12-lead ECG, capnography and non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) monitoring.

Pulmonetic Systems® LTV900 Ventilator
Designed to meet the unique challenges of a Emergency Medical Services environment. The LTV900 is made to provide optimum patient comfort and care, the LTV 900 features extensive patient monitoring capabilities and a comprehensive alarms package for optimum patient care including; variable rise time, variable sensitivity flow trigger, variable flow termination, variable time termination, leak compensation, NPPV mode, and high pressure alarm delay. The LTV900 offers active controls and alarms settings that are illuminated for easy identification of ventilation parameters in all pre-hospital settings.
